career development

there is growing recognition that career development skills can help individuals to meet the constantly changing needs of the labour market and maintain their employability so that they can achieve their aspirations and participate in the community.

Most people need support to help them take advantage of opportunities that present throughout their career.

The Australian Government has a range of career, transition and vocational education and training programmes and policies to ensure that all Australians, particularly young people with the support of their families and communities, have access to services through and beyond school which assist them to:

make informed choices when selecting schools, courses and post-school opportunities
connect education and training pathways with career choices and employment prospects
access the broad range of community services and specialist supports available to them.
Organisations, as diverse as business, government, education providers and community organisations, are working together in partnership to help people make successful transitions.
