Career vs Personality

Salam everyone!!

Hi… I like to share about our previous lesson whereby I agree that certain job need to fit with the individual personality or character. It is because, in order to get job satisfaction, we should know what is suit and not with ourself. People often make their career choice based on location or income without giving any thought to how their job will fit long- term with their personality type. They just think as long they have a job plus with high salary, they can accept any jobs although they are not interested and actually are not fit with their personality. They maybe think that, in this challenging world, they should not become a choosy person because they might be unemployed if they react like that. But, if that’s the route that individual took, they’re probably feeling like their job is more obligatory than satisfactory.

For me, I like to be a teacher and I think I have the personality and character that every teacher should have. Actually we can know whether that job is suit with us or not or whether we are interested or not in doing our job. We can find it by doing a Career Test. From the Holland Personality Type, a teacher should have social, enterprising and artistic personality type in order to be outstanding and being a good teacher. Social personality type is particularly value people who are helpful, friendly and trustworthy therefore the person is who are good at teaching, counseling, nursing, giving information and solving social problems. And a teacher also should have enterprising personality in order to offer the opportunity for independence and leadership and often allow for increased earnings and lastly a teacher also should be in artistic type whereby they should creative and sometimes unconventional.

The fact is, the studies has already indicates that a match between job and personality play an important part in job satisfaction and success. When choosing a career based on individual personality type, they will be able to guide their future career along a most rewarding path. Therefore they will enjoy doing job in whatever they prefer to because it is a satisfactory more than obligatory. So, are you all agree with me?
