"Hand -to-Mouth" life. Car or House?

Salam to everyone...
Hand to Mouth life means earning and consuming the salary without any leave for saving. when we discuss about it in cluz today, it remind me automatically about the reality life of workplace that i had last time. in workplace, there are two type of workers which are support staffs (who low salary paid) and profesional staffs(high salary paid.. atually both are having the the same life. Hand to Mouth life...yup, money is never enough even our salary paid is rm10,000 per month! You know why, for instance, while a person are hired as a junior accountant, he maybe own the MyV Produa car that suit with his/ her salary on that time...but after 3 years, when s/he become senior accountant and the salary is highly paid, then the MyV Produa change to Honda Jazz or so on even the MyV is good enough :-)... this is mean, human being alwayz consume more when the money is more that usual because interest of branding life and so on. For me, that why the hand-to-mouth life happen. I also agree that majority of employees in Malaysia doing the part -time jobs like being multilevel agent products because of need to pay the extra luxury items that they have like branded accessories, buying import cars and house at the same time then coz out of budget and then there are no money leave for saving.

My friend told me that the Chinese have different approach when they are started work after graduate or end secondary school. they always buy the profitable things that can be as investment. they prefer to buy houses rather than car as first asset. you know why, this is because the price of house will increase compare to the car price which decrease day per day. for me, to avoiding the hand-to mouth life is depend on our financial management and our thought about our needs and awareness to calculate money first before buying.:-)What the most important is SAVING because our saving is our invisible umbrella for our future life.
So what you will buy first? Car or house as your first asset?TQ

salam.emm, good reflection!.I agree with you.Naturally, human beings always not satisfied with their live.Means that, people are not feel regard or bersyukur to what they already have.People tend to demand more. For example, they already have a good job with a good salary. But,they forget that they need to saving their money for future use. They use their money to buy what they want(unnecessary things).Have you heard about this?."As a good Muslim,we can devide our money like this...we need to use some, give some and save some".So,we should not apply "hand-to-mouth" life because we will in big trouble.Nauzubillah...wassalam.

salam,

i also agree with you, nor hasrina regarding your points of view on our Malays people. they tend to be demanding and are wasting their money for things that are not necessary for their daily life actually. we can see, Malay businessman, when they start open up the business, the 1st things they will do is to wear a high standard of clothes, driving an import BMW cars, lives in luxurios bungalow which worth a hundreds thousand or exceed millions. They don't save or use their money to expand their business but they tend to show off what they proudly have. however, it differs to Chinese businessman while they tend to be in an average condition, driving just a national secondhand cars, live in terrace house and just wearing a simple clothes and they tend to save the money for the future company enhancement or invest it by buying another assets.

Recently, when i accompany my brother and my sis in law having a visit to low- cost house showroom in Balakong last week...what i have surprise is most people that are in the showroom is Chinese young people. what i want to highlight at this moment is.. Chinese young people are intellegent whereby they tend to grab the opportunities to buy the house because they know how to invest their money.. whereby Malay young people is more likely to be seen in shopping complexs, use their money to go for shopping, buying unnecessary things, cinemas, restaurant and others.

what i can say.. "tepuk dada tanya lar selera"..what we want to be actually? huhu...tq
